If travelling from the North, East or
West head south, Castletown/Airport direction. Drive through Ballasalla and
proceed south with the airport on your left. Drive past Ocean Ford on your right
and turn left at the roundabout sign posted Derbyhaven A12.
If travelling
from the South head towards Castletown on the A25 going past the Southern 100 on
your right and S+S motors. Go left at the next roundabout past Station Garage
and straight on at the next roundabout sign posted Derbyhaven A12.
At the
end of the road turn left. Proceed along the road past the rear of King William
College and the airport. When the road reaches the shore go left around the
bend. Travel along this road until you come to the end. The Manx Flyers Aero
Club is situated at the end of the road. The venue is along the foot path
between the beach and the flyers club.
Terrain
The venue follows
the coastline, this is a rocky beach with some larger boulders. There is a great
deal of grass banks though, to give a varied terrain. The venue is
noticeably more sheltered than near by Scarlett, there is adequate room for both
expert and novice sections
Parking and
Accessibility
Parking is on the side of the
road this is plentiful and also very little traffic. Accessibility for observers
and spectators is good as the sections start near to the road and the ground is
level.
