When travelling from the south this venue
is located by travelling along the shore at Gansey. Follow the road up the hill
to the very top, the road then starts to descend. You will see a farm on the
right hand side. At this farm turn right onto a narrow road, sign posted Pooil
Vaaish Quarry. Follow it to the very end. As you reach the shore you will see a
farm to your left. Go slowly through the farm and along the narrow track to the
end. This is the venue.
Travelling from north, east or west either follow
the Douglas road down to the airport. Go past the airport and turn right at the
next two roundabouts. Follow the road past S&S Motors to the traffic lights
and go straight through them. This is the point where people travelling from a
northerly direction will join after coming down the Ballamoda. Then across the
crossroads at Billown (Cross Four Ways) following the road down through Great
Meadow. At the bottom of the road turn right at the traffic lights.
Now
proceed straight ahead, this is the Southern 100 start/finish. Keep going
straight ahead, don’t take the next left but continue until you leave
Castletown. You will see a farm as you start to ascend the hill. At this farm
turn left onto a narrow road, sign posted Pooil Vaaish Quarry. Follow it to the
very end. As you reach the shore you will see a farm to the left. Go slowly
through the farm  and along the narrow track to the end. This is the venue.
Terrain
The trials use the shore which is grass covered sand, the quarry,
which is quite mild terrain compared to most quarries and the sharp rocks on the
foreshore and near the farm..
Parking
and Accessibility
The parking is on the
roadside leading to the quarry. Take care to keep the road clear. Spectators can
access the site quite easily, however it is a reasonable walk from the quarry to
the farm.  Please note this is a working Quarry so take great care as
machinery may be around during a trial.
