From the Douglas area follow the signs
for Airport and Castletown. Go past the airport and proceed to the roundabout
(Janet’s corner). Turn right and proceed to the next roundabout then turn Left.
Follow the road over the Harbour Bridge and around the castle. Go through
Castletown and out of the tight exit, sign posted short stay car park. Take the
next available left turn alongside the car park. This road takes you all the way
to the trials area at the very end of the road.
If approaching from the
North or West of the island follow the signs for Castletown/Airport. At the
bottom of the Ballamodha, Cross Four Ways, go straight ahead and follow the road
to the traffic lights at the end. At the lights turn right and drive through the
southern 100 Start/ Finish line. Take the next left. At this point anyone
approaching from south head to Castletown then turn right at the southern 100
H.Q. Building, sign posted town centre.
Proceed along this road all the
way passing Castle Rushen High School on the right, keep going on the road about
half a mile until you see the fire station on the right. Take the next right
turn after the short stay car park and proceed along the road to the very end
this is where the venue is situated.
Terrain
This is very close to the sea
and very rocky but also a large amount of grass area. A pebble beach but no real
sandy areas. This is a very exposed area so it can be cold. A positive side that
it is accessible to spectators and always a popular site for the Two Day Trial.
Parking and Accessibility
There is plenty of parking for both competitors and spectators.
Signing on takes place in the second car park which is situated on the right
past the visitors centre.
