If you are travelling from the north,
east or west, firstly make your way to Foxdale. Drive through Foxdale and head
south (Castletown/airport direction). The road out of Foxdale is a steep hill,
keep going all the way to the top. As the road starts to level take your next
right turn, this is signed for Port Erin. Proceed up the road around the right
hand bend. After the plantation on your left take the left turn through the gate
leading onto a narrow track. Follow the track that runs parallel with the trees.
Once at the end it brings you into a large car park.
If travelling from
the south go straight up Ballamodha. This is a long, fast uphill road. Once at
the top the road starts to descend with a plantation on the left. On the left
where the trees have been cleared there is a left turn to Port Erin. Take this
turn and proceed up the road around the right bend. After the plantation on your
left take the left turn through the gate leading onto a narrow track. Follow the
track that runs parallel with the trees. Once at the end it brings you into a
large car park.
Terrain
The area is mostly quarry but sometimes the plantation is also
used. The quarry can be quite rough on both rider and machine, nevertheless
there are some enjoyable sections for both beginners and experts. Novices be
warned but not put off.
Parking and Accessibility
There is excellent parking for both competitors and spectators
alike. This been in the form of two large parking areas. Access for the sections
for spectators are excellent as they are in and around the car park.
